_______________________________________________________________ Brenda Novak NY Times Best Selling Romantic Suspense Author It was a shocking experience that jump-started Brenda Novak’s career as an author. “I caught my daycare provider drugging my children with cough syrup to get them to sleep,” she said. “It was then I decided that I needed to do something from home.”
What was that something? Brenda decided to write a book. Since her first novel in 1999, she has managed to write 31 more. She also sponsors an online auction every year to benefit diabetes research in honor of her son, who has the disease.
Now a New York Times Bestseller, probably best known for the first three books in her Last Stand series (Trust Me, Stop Me and Watch Me), this past summer she added three dynamic books to the series, The Perfect Couple, The Perfect Liar and The Perfect Murder. Many of her novels have been designated an RT Book Review Magazine “Top Pick” and have gone on to place in contests such as the Romance Writers of America Rita Award, the National Readers’ Choice, the Bookseller’s Best, the Write Touch Readers’ Award, and the Book Buyer’s Best.
Publishers Weekly says Brenda’s novels are “richly dramatic.” According to Library Journal, her work appeals to those who like their romances with a “sophisticated touch.” RT Book Review Magazine says, “Brenda Novak skillfully blends richly developed characters and emotionally intense issues to create a powerful romance. This is an author destined for stardom.”
At the February 20 luncheon meeting, Brenda will speak about plotting/researching/writing techniques, as well as how she handles the responsibilities of being a best-selling author. Learn more on her website, www.brendanovak.com, where you can find excerpts of her work, prize drawings, book trailers, freebies and information about her annual online auction for diabetes research. _____________________________________ Northern California Publishers & Authors Conference 2010 “A Publishing and Writing Odyssey” This daylong conference is an opportunity for emerging and established authors and publishers to hear firsthand from experts.
